Jesus helps a little girl and a sick woman – Luke 8:41-56

An important man came to see Jesus.
He wanted Jesus to come to his house.
His little girl was dying.
She was his only daughter. She was 12 years old.
As Jesus walked with the man, a lot of people followed him.
They were crowding around Jesus.
A woman in the crowd had a disease.
She had spent all her money as she tried to find a cure for the disease.
She had suffered for 12 years and no-one could make her well.
She came near to Jesus. She touched his coat.
Immediately, she was well again.
Jesus stopped. He said, "Who touched me?"
Jesus' friend Peter said, "Master, a lot of people touched you.
There are so many people around you. It is so crowded."
But Jesus knew the woman had touched him.
She came to Jesus and knelt in front of him. She was very nervous.
She told everyone what had happened.
She told them she was made well at once.
Jesus said, "Your faith has made you well. Go in peace."
As Jesus was speaking to the woman, a messenger arrived.
He told the important man that it was too late. The child had died.
Jesus said, "Do not be afraid. She will be well."
A lot of people were at the man's house. They were crying.
Jesus said, "She is not dead. She is asleep."
The people laughed at him.
He went into the house with the child's mother and father.
Jesus' friends James and Peter and John were allowed in too.
Jesus held the little girl's hand. He said, "Get up, little child."
She got up at once. She was alive again.
Jesus told her mother to give her something to eat.
Her mother and father were amazed at what Jesus did.
