Jesus walks on the water – John 6:16-29

After Jesus had given all the people some food he went to a quiet place.
He wanted to be alone.
Jesus’ friends got into the boat.
It was late at night.
They set off for home across the lake.
Jesus was not with them in the boat.
Jesus’ friends rowed the boat.

A strong wind blew.
Waves tossed the boat about.
Suddenly the friends saw Jesus.

He was walking on top of the water.

His friends were afraid.
“Do not be afraid”, said Jesus.
His friends helped him into the boat.
Immediately the boat reached the other side of the lake.

The people knew that Jesus’ friends had gone into the boat.
They knew that Jesus was not with them when they left.
The people could not understand.
How did Jesus get to the other side of the lake without a boat?
