A sick man meets Jesus – Mark 2:1-5, 11-12

Jesus was preaching in a place called Capernaum. Lots of people came to hear him. Jesus was in a house. The house was full of people.

Four men came carrying their sick friend to see Jesus. They could not get to Jesus in the house. The crowd was too big. So they made a hole in the roof of the house. The four men let their sick friend down through the hole on a mat.

Jesus saw that the four men trusted him to make their sick friend better. He was pleased with them. He said to the sick man, 'Get up and go home.' The sick man stood up and walked home. Everybody in the crowd saw him and praised God.

1. The sick man was too unwell to go to Jesus. He had four very good friends. They brought him to Jesus.
2. The four friends trusted Jesus. They knew he could make their friend well again.
3. Jesus made the man better. He was very happy.
4. Everybody in the crowd was happy and thanked God.
