What Is So Special About The Bible?

The Bible claims it comes from God:

20 It is very important that you should understand this: The prophets' messages in the Bible did not come from their own ideas. That never happens. 21 None of the prophets' messages came because any person wanted to say something. Instead, God's Holy Spirit caused people to speak words that came from God.

1:19God's prophets spoke messages about the Messiah who would come in the future. That was like a light which shone in a dark place. But when Jesus returns to the earth, that will be like the dawn. Jesus brings the light of day. The morning star appears in the sky just before the sunrise. It is very bright. It shows us that the day is coming. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus says that he is the morning star.

Jesus says the Bible is as important as food:

4 But Jesus replied, ‘No! The Bible says that food alone cannot cause people to live. They need to hear every word that God speaks. That is what gives them true life.’

4:4Jesus was very hungry. The Devil knew that Jesus could make stones become bread. He also knew that Jesus was God's Son. God had not told Jesus to make bread, so he did not obey the Devil. Jesus used God's word from Deuteronomy 8:3 to answer the Devil.
