The Passover was a special holy day. On that day the Jews remembered how God freed them. He freed them when they were slaves in Egypt. Here we read about how Jesus’ friends prepared for the Passover meal.

Final remarks
Jesus did not let the disciples know earlier where they would eat the Passover meal. This was probably in case Judas told the chief priests. He did not want anyone to disturb them because he would do something very important. Peter and John had to trust him and do exactly what he said.
