Final remarks
Jesus gave a new meaning to the Passover meal. He wanted his disciples to remember that he died for them. They would remember this when they ate bread and drank wine. He talked about the New Covenant. The New Covenant is the promise that he can forgive our evil deeds. Also, this simple ceremony looks forward to when Jesus will come again. When the kingdom of God is complete, all of Jesus’ people will dine with him. Sadly, Judas will not be in the kingdom. And those who refuse God’s offer of forgiveness will not be there.
Pray
Lord Jesus, you died on the cross to forgive my evil deeds. I thank you for this. Help me not to sin but to live my life for you and for your honour. Amen.
