Luke 21:5-28

The evidence of the end of the age

About the next group of questions

Here we read what Jesus told his followers. He told them about three things that would happen in the future. And he told them how they should prepare for it. They were expecting a kingdom. But it would not come as they thought that it would. Jesus wanted them to know this.

Ask God to help you to learn important truths as you study.

Final remarks

The armies of their enemies would destroy Jerusalem. Jesus said that the Jews would be punished in this way because of their evil deeds. He also promised that all those who followed him would suffer. They would suffer because of their belief in him. So, we must remain loyal. And we must not deny that we trust in Jesus. We can look forward to the time when Jesus will come again. Then he will take us out of the troubles in this world.

Pray

Dear Jesus, please keep me strong when people are against me. Help me to remain loyal and confident in your power. Help me to be brave whatever comes. Amen.
