Paul in prison – Acts 16:20-40
1.
Paul and his friend Silas were telling people about Jesus.
Some bad men took them away.
“They are no good”, they said.
“They are teaching things that we do not like.”
Paul and Silas were put in prison.
They were hit with big sticks.
Their feet were chained to blocks of wood.
They could not move.
At midnight, Paul and Silas prayed.
They sang hymns to God.
The other prisoners listened to them.
Suddenly the prison shook.
There was an earthquake.
All the chains fell off.
All the prison doors opened.
The keeper of the prison was afraid.
He thought the prisoners had escaped
He was in trouble.
Paul shouted to him “We are all here.”
The keeper said, “What must I do to be saved?”
“Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved”, said Paul.
2.
Then Paul told him all about Jesus.
He believed what Paul told him.
His family believed in Jesus.
They took Paul and Silas into their house.
They washed them.
They gave them food.
The next day the keeper of the prison was told
“Let Paul and Silas go free.
We are sorry that we put them in prison.”
They went back to Lydia’s house.
They thanked God that they were free.
