Jesus and Matthew – Luke 5:27-31

Jesus saw a man sitting in his office.
He was a tax collector.
He collected money from people to pay their taxes.
His name was Matthew.

Jesus said to him, "Follow me."
Matthew got up, left his office and went with Jesus.

Matthew had a dinner at his house.
He invited some other tax collectors to the dinner.
Some of the leaders of the town were there.
They asked Jesus' friends a question.
"Why do you have dinner with tax collectors and people that no-one likes?"
Jesus answered the leaders,
"I have not come to call people who think they are good.
I want people who know they that have done wrong to come to me.
People who want to say sorry to God."
