Some shepherds come to see the baby – Luke 2:8-20
Some shepherds were out in the fields on the night Mary’s baby was born.
They were looking after their sheep.
An angel came to them.
They were very frightened.
“Do not be afraid”, the angel said.
“I have some good news for you.
It will make all the people happy.
This day your Saviour has been born.
He is Christ the Lord.
You will find him wrapped in cloths.
He will be lying in a manger.”
Suddenly hundreds of angels appeared.
They sang, “Glory to God and peace on earth to those who please God.”
The angels left the shepherds.
The shepherds said, “Let us go and see what has happened.”
They hurried to Bethlehem.
The shepherds found Mary and Joseph and the baby.
They told Mary and Joseph what the angel had said to them.
Everyone who heard about it was amazed.
The shepherds went back to their sheep.
They sang and praised God for all they had seen and heard.
Everything was just as the angel had told them.
Mary remembered all these things and often thought about them.
