The boy Jesus – Luke 2:41-52

Every year Jesus’ parents went to the great city.
The church in the city had special meetings.
People came from all around.
It was like a holiday.

When Jesus was 12 years old he went with Mary and Joseph.
When it was over, they travelled back home.
It was a long journey.
Jesus stayed behind in the city but his parents did not know.
They thought he was with their friends.
They travelled all day.
Then they found that Jesus was missing.
He was not with their friends.

Mary and Joseph went all the way back to the city.
They searched for him.

On the third day they found him.
He was in the church.
He sat with the teachers.
He asked them a lot of questions.
The teachers were surprised. Jesus was very clever.

Mary and Joseph said, “We were very worried about you.”
Jesus told them that he had to be in his Father’s house.
They did not understand what he meant.
Jesus went home with them and did what they told him.

He grew up in Nazareth.
Everyone knew what a good person he was.
And God blessed him.
