Jesus at Mary and Martha’s home – John 12:1-7
Jesus went to his friends’ house.
His friends were Mary and Martha and Lazarus.
Lazarus was sitting at the table with Jesus.
Martha was serving the dinner.
Mary came into the room.
She had a bottle of perfume.
The perfume cost a lot of money.
She poured it on Jesus’ feet.
Then she wiped his feet with her hair.
Mary had very long hair.
Everyone in the house could smell the lovely perfume.
One of the men who were with Jesus said,
“Why did she not sell the perfume and give the money to the poor people?”
He did not really care about poor people.
He was a thief.
He carried the money for Jesus and his friends.
Sometimes he stole money from the bag.
Jesus said, “Leave her alone.
You will always have poor people around you.
You will not always have me.”
