The leaders get help to catch Jesus – Matthew 26:3-4, 14-16

Some of the important leaders in Jerusalem did not like Jesus.

They did not like him to heal people who were sick.
They did not like the kind things that he did.
They did not like the things that he said.
People liked Jesus better than them.
The leaders did not like that.

The leaders wanted to have Jesus killed.
How could they catch him?

A man called Judas said he was Jesus’ friend.
He was not a real friend.
Judas went to the leaders of the city.
He said he would help them to catch Jesus.
“What will you give me?” he asked.
The leaders told Judas they would give him money.
“We will give you 30 silver coins.”

Judas began to look for a chance to catch Jesus.
They could get him at night when it was dark.
