Isaiah tells that Jesus will heal people – Isaiah 35:3-6
Isaiah was a man who lived about 700 years before Jesus.
Isaiah wrote a book.
God helped Isaiah to write his book.
The book was about what God would do in the future.
In his book Isaiah wrote:
Tell this good news to make everyone happy.
Some people are frightened.
Encourage them. Give them hope.
Say to them:
‘Be strong.
Do not be frightened.
God is coming.
He will defeat your enemies.
He will save you.’
When God comes, he will make the blind see.
He will make the deaf hear.
People who were lame will be able to run and jump.
People who were dumb will be able to sing and shout.
Later in the Bible a man called Luke tells us:
John the Baptist was in prison.
John heard that Jesus was doing wonderful things.
John sent two of his friends to see Jesus.
The friends found Jesus healing people who could not walk.
They found Jesus healing people who could not see.
They found Jesus healing people who had sick bodies.
They found Jesus healing people who had sick minds.
The friends asked Jesus:
‘Are you really the one we are waiting for?
Or shall we keep looking for him?’
Jesus answered:
‘Go back to John.
Tell John everything you have seen today.
Tell John everything you have heard today.
Blind people can see now.
Lame people can walk now.
Deaf people can hear now.
Sick people are well now.
Dead people are alive again.
And helpless people are hearing the good news.
Tell John:
“Keep trusting me.
God will be good to you.”’
Isaiah had said that people would be healed.
What Isaiah had written came true in Jesus.
