your town is a very important town in Judea.
A person born in your town will become a ruler of my people, Israel.
2:6Jacob was the ancestor of the Israelites and God gave him a new name, Israel. Here God's people are called by the name of Israel. See Genesis 32:27-28; 35:9-10. Israel was also the name for the land that God gave to his people to live in.
