Matthew 20:18-20
18 He said to them, ‘Listen! We are going to Jerusalem. There, someone will give the Son of Man to the leaders of the priests and the teachers of God's Law. These Jewish leaders will decide that he must die. 19 Then they will put him under the power of people who are not Jews. Those people will laugh at him. They will hit him with whips. Then they will kill him on a cross. But after three days, he will become alive again.’
20:18Jesus used the name ‘ Son of Man’ to talk about himself.
20:19At this time, the Roman rulers would kill wicked people on a cross.
Jesus says that leaders must serve other people
20 Then the mother of James and John took her sons to see Jesus. (Their father was Zebedee.) She went down on her knees in front of Jesus. She asked him to do something good for her.
