Mark 5:21-24; 35-43 (see Mark's Gospel in EasyEnglish)

Jesus and his friends had returned to Galilee. Many people came to see him. Some of them had heard what he taught. And some had seen him make ill people well. They wanted to know more about God. Some people came because they were ill. They knew that Jesus could make them well again.

Jairus was a very important man. His daughter was too ill to come to Jesus. So Jairus came to ask Jesus for help.

Questions to ask

V21   Why did a large crowd come to Jesus?

V22   Why did Jairus go down on his knees?

V23   What did Jairus want Jesus to do? What did Jairus think would happen then?

V35   How did Jairus feel when the men said this?

V36   What did Jesus tell Jairus to do?

V38   Why did the people cry?

V40   Why did the people laugh at Jesus?

V41   What did Jesus do?

V43   What did Jesus tell the girl's parents to do for their daughter?

Something to do

1. Think about the people whom you know. Perhaps some of them are ill. Pray that God will make them well.

2. Think about any people who are ill. Perhaps you can do something to help them.

3. Read again the words of Jesus that are in V36. Say these words often.
