Simon catches a lot of fish

Jesus was standing near the lake.

He was teaching the crowds about God.

Two boats were lying near Jesus.

Jesus got into Simon’s boat.

Jesus said:

‘Simon, row the boat into deep water.

Let your nets down to catch some fish.’

Simon said:

‘Master, we worked hard all night.

We caught no fish.

But I will do what you say.

I will let down the nets again.’

They let down the nets.

They caught lots of fish.

They caught so many fish that their nets began to break.

The boat was full of fish.

The boat began to sink.

Simon was frightened.

Simon said:

‘Go away from me, Jesus.

I am a bad man.’

Jesus said:

‘Don’t be frightened, Simon.

From now you will bring in people instead of fish.’

Then Simon and his friends left everything they had.

They became followers of Jesus.
