The leaders want to arrest Jesus

Some of the important leaders in Jerusalem did not like Jesus.

They did not like the kind things he did.

They did not like the things he said.

They did not like it when Jesus healed people.

They were angry because people liked Jesus better than them.

They wanted to have Jesus killed.

How could they catch him?

A man called Judas said he was Jesus’ friend.

Judas was not a real friend.

He said he was Jesus’ friend but he did not mean it.

Judas went to the leaders of the city.

He said he would help them to catch Jesus.

They could get him at night when it was dark.

The leaders were happy about that.

They promised Judas some money.

They said they would give him 30 silver coins.

He would get the money when they caught Jesus.
