Jesus went to a wedding
An EasyEnglish Story Unit (AEE) from John’s Good News
Joyce Ferrie
Jesus went to a wedding.
His friends were there.
His mother was invited too.
Jesus’ mother said to him
“There is no wine left.”
Jesus said, “It is not the time for me to help.”
His mother said to the servants
“Do whatever Jesus tells you to do.”

There were some big water jars in the room.
The jars could hold a lot of water.
Jesus told the servants to fill the jars with water.
“Take some out of the jar”, said Jesus.
“Give it to the man in charge of the wedding.”

They took the water to him.
It had turned into wine.
It was no longer water.
The man did not know what had happened.
The servants knew what Jesus had done.
The man in charge of the meal said to the bridegroom
“Everyone else serves the best wine first.
You have kept the best wine until now.”
This was Jesus’ first miracle.
