Moses prayed to God.

God said, ‘I will show the Egyptians that I am God.

They will let my people go.

I have heard your cry for help.  I remember my promise.

Tell the Israelites that I will save them.

I will bring them out of Egypt.

I will give them the land I promised.’

Moses told the Israelites all that God said.

But they did not listen.

Then God told Moses to go to Pharaoh

and tell him to let the Israelites go.

Moses was not good at talking

so Aaron went with him and spoke for him.

They told him all that God said.

But Pharaoh would not let the people go.

Then they showed Pharaoh the first sign

that God had given them.

The staff turned into a snake.

Pharaoh’s magicians did the same.

Moses’ snake ate their snakes.

But Pharaoh would not let the people go.

They showed Pharaoh the other two signs.

But Pharaoh would not let the people go.
