Why do Christians tell other people about Jesus?

The Bible says that people need to hear about Jesus to trust in him and go to heaven:

“If you say you belong to the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has brought him back from death, he will save you. For when you believe in your heart and say that Jesus is Lord, God saves you.

For the Scripture says: ‘Whoever believes in him will never be put to shame’.

For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for the same Lord over all is very kind to all that call on him. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be safe’.

How then can they call on him if they have not believed in him? And how can they believe in him if they have not heard of him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

‘How beautiful are the feet of those that preach the good news of peace ― that bring good news of good things’.”

Romans 10:9-15

“I am not ashamed of the good news of Christ, for it is the power of God to save everyone that believes. First, the Jews must hear it, then the Gentiles.”

Romans 1:16

Jesus told people to tell others the Good News:

“Jesus came close to them. He said to them, ‘God, my Father, has given me all authority in his home and on earth. I tell you to go and make the people from every country my disciples. You should baptize them by the authority of God the Father, Jesus his son and the Holy Spirit. You should teach them everything that I taught you. Then they will also obey me all the time as you obey me. It will happen that I will be with you. It will be like this until the end of time’.”

Matthew 28:18-20
