Jesus in The Temple

Reference

Mark 11:15-19

Introduction

Jews had to pay money to the Temple each year. They had to use special coins. They had to buy perfect birds for sacrifice. The people who changed the money and the people who sold the birds charged too much money.

People carried goods through the court. It was a short way from one part of the city to another. It was like a market.

People who were not Jews could only use the Temple court to pray. But the priests did not keep it right. Jesus taught that the priests were wrong to let bad things happen in the temple. So then the priests were afraid that the people would follow Jesus. And the priests were afraid that the people would not obey them any longer.
