Chapter 7

Chapter 7

7:1-23 You might use your own words to express this. And then you might want to act it as a play.

7:1 Who came? Where had they come from? What do you think about the place where they came from? Why was that place special?

7:2 The Pharisees noticed something. So did the experts that knew a lot about the law. What did they notice? What might be the reason why they noticed that particular thing?

7:3 Use your own words to express this. What do you think about this? Do you have traditions like this in your church? Do you have them among your own people?

7:4 Use your own words to express this. What do you think about this? What are the traditions like this among your own people?

7:5 What do you or your leaders teach, that Jesus might not have taught his disciples?

7:6 What idea do you think that Jesus was expressing here? Use your own words to express this. By what you say, you might give honour to God. But you might show by your life that you do not really love God very much in your heart. In what ways might you do that?

7:7 How could it be that these people's worship does not mean anything? Some rules are ones that people have made. What such rules have people taught to you? Or what such rules have you taught to people? How might you know whether rules are God's rules or man's rules?

7:8 What does this mean? What other examples can you think of?

7:9 Use your own words to express this. What do you think that Jesus might have meant?

7:10 Use your own words to express this. What do you think that it means to give honour to your father and mother? Is it the same, whatever age you are?

7:11 Use your own words to express this. What would this man's parents have received otherwise?

7:12 What did the Pharisees not allow the man to do? What do you think about that?

7:13 What were the Pharisees doing to God's law? What were some 'other things like that'?

7:14 What happened? What did Jesus tell the crowd to do?

7:15, 16 What was the discussion about? Give some examples of things that go in. Give some examples of things that go out.

7:17 What was happening? What did Jesus' disciples want to know?

7:18 What do you think about Jesus' questions? Do you understand? Jesus said, 'What you eat cannot make you unclean.' What do you think about that idea?

7:19 What did Jesus say about food? What happens to it? What does not happen to it? What important thing was Jesus saying about food?

7:20 Use your own words to express this.

7:21 Use your own words to express this. Which of these things have you ever thought that you might do at some time? Which of those things have you ever actually done?

7:22 Use your own words to express this. Which of these things do you know about because of your own experiences?

7:23 Where do those things come from? Use your own words to express this. What do you learn?

7:24-30 You might use your own words to express this. And then you might want to act it as a play.

7:24 What did Jesus do? What did Jesus try to do?

7:25 Who are the people that you read about in this story? What is the story?

7:26 What do you think that this description of this woman means? Why was it important that she was born in Syro-Phoenicia? What do you learn about her attitude to Jesus?

7:27 Use your own words to express this. What might be the reason why Jesus changed the subject here?

7:28 Use your own words to express this. What do you think about what this woman said to Jesus?

7:29 What do you think about Jesus' answer? What might be the reason why that happened?

7:30 What did the woman find when she got home?

7:31-37 You might use your own words to express this. And then you might want to act it as a play.

7:32 What do you learn about this man that people brought to Jesus? What did they ask Jesus to do? Why did they want him to do that?

7:33 What three things did Jesus do with this man? Why did he do these things, do you think?

7:34 What did Jesus do? What three kinds of communication did Jesus use?

7:35 What things changed for this man?
