God makes his people clean from their sins
1 ‘On that day, water will start to pour from a fountain for King David's descendants and for Jerusalem's people. It will make them clean from their sins and the things that have made them unclean.’
2 The Lord Almighty says, ‘On that day, I will remove the names of idols from the land. Nobody will remember them any more. I will also remove from the land the false prophets and the bad spirit that deceives them. 3 Because of that, if anyone continues to prophesy, his own father and mother will say to him, “You must die. You say that you speak with the Lord's authority, but you tell lies.” Then his own parents will use a sword to kill him as he prophesies lies.
4 On that day, every prophet will be ashamed of his visions. He will no longer wear a prophet's rough clothes to pretend that he is a prophet. 5 Instead, he will say, “Do not think that I am a prophet. No, I am a farmer. From the time that I was a boy, I have always worked on the land.” 6 People may ask him, “What caused those wounds on your body?” He will tell them, “I received those wounds when I was at the house of my friends.” ’
13:6 Prophets who served false gods often cut their own bodies. See 1 Kings 18:28. But these prophets would now pretend that there were other reasons for their wounds.
