Micah 7:8-10

Israel's enemies will be ashamed

8 My enemies, do not be happy because I am in trouble.

7:8Micah speaks on behalf of God's people.

I have fallen down, but I will get up.

I am in the dark, but the Lord will be a light for me.

7:8In the Bible, when people do not know the truth about God, it is like they are living in a dark place. God gives light so that people know the truth.

9 I have not obeyed the Lord,

so I must be patient while he punishes me.

But after that, he will speak on my behalf.

He will make things right for me.

He will bring me out into the light.

I will see him rescue me.

10 When my enemies see this,

they will be very ashamed.

Now they say to me, ‘The Lord your God has not helped you.’

But then I will laugh at them.

Other people will stamp on them,

as if they are mud in the streets.
