Leviticus 1:14-17

14 A person may want to give a bird as a burnt offering to the Lord. His offering must be a dove or a young pigeon. 15 The priest will take the bird to the altar. He will tear off the head and he will burn it on the altar. He will pour the bird's blood onto the side of the altar. 16 Then the priest will remove the part of the bird where it keeps its food, and the food in it. He will throw it on the east side of the altar, where the ashes are. 17 He will take hold of the bird's wings and he will tear open the body. But he must not tear it completely into two pieces. He will burn all of it on the wood that is burning on the altar. The smell of the burnt offering will give pleasure to the Lord.
