The big storm

An EasyEnglish Story Unit (AEE) from Mark’s Good News

Joyce Ferrie

The big storm

Jesus was in a boat.

His friends were in the boat with him.

The boat was on the lake.

There was a storm.

The wind blew and the waves were very big.

Jesus was asleep in the boat.

His friends were afraid of the storm.

They thought the boat would sink.

They said, ‘Wake up Jesus, we are afraid’.

Jesus woke up. He said to the wind, ‘Be quiet’.

He said to the waves, ‘Be still’.

The storm stopped.

The sea was calm. The wind did not blow.

Jesus said, ‘Don’t be afraid, trust me’.

His friends said, ‘Jesus is very important.

The wind and the sea obey him’.
