Jesus and his friends were near the city.

The city was called Jerusalem.

Jesus asked two of his friends to go to a nearby village.

He said, “You will find a young donkey there.

Untie it and bring it to me.

If someone asks you what you are doing,

tell them the Master needs it.”

That is just what happened.

They got the donkey.

They led it to Jesus.

Jesus’ friends put their coats on the donkey’s back.

They helped Jesus to get on the donkey.

He rode it along the road.

Crowds of people were there.

They called out to Jesus,

“God bless the King who comes in the Lord’s name.

Peace and glory to God.”

The leaders said, “Tell the people to be quiet.”

Jesus said, “If they keep quiet, the very stones will start to shout.”
