Then God sent the last plague to Egypt.

He said to Moses, ‘After this, Pharaoh will let you go.

Tonight, every eldest son in Egypt will die, but you will be kept safe.

You must all kill a lamb and put its blood on your doors.

You must eat the lamb and be ready to leave.

You must do this every year to remember how I saved you.’

That night all the eldest sons in Egypt died.

But the Israelites were safe.

Then Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron.  He said,

‘Leave here, or we will all die.

Take everything with you.’

He gave them food, clothes and money.

Every year after this, the Israelites remembered

how God saved them from the Egyptians.

They called it the Passover.

They worshipped God and thanked him for saving them.
