The beggar outside the church
An EasyEnglish Story Unit (AEE) from Acts
Joyce Ferrie
Peter and John were two of Jesus’ friends.
One day they were going to meet some people.
They were going to pray together.
They saw a man sitting by the church.
He was sitting on the ground.
He could not walk.
He asked for money.
Peter said, “We don’t have any money.
I will give you something else.
In the name of Jesus I tell you to walk.”
Peter took the man’s hand and he stood up.
He could walk now.
He walked, he jumped and he said “Thank you” to God.
Then he went in to the church with Peter and John.
The people in the church saw the man walk.
They were very surprised.
Peter said, “Do not be surprised.
We told you Jesus was alive.
It was because we asked Jesus.
He made the man better.”
Jesus can still help people if we ask him.
